In Hospital Laboratory

Smith Veterinary Hospital has extensive in-house diagnostic equipment. This results in a more rapid and accurate diagnosis and therefore a quicker mitigation of proper treatment. Our hospital diagnostics capabilities include serum chemistry analysis, hematology, serology, and parasitology. We also can send samples to a commercial laboratory for further or more specialized diagnostics.

First

We have a complete in hospital pharmacy to quickly provide medications for treatment at home. We also stock a wide range of prescription foods for the treatment of conditions ranging from kidney disease and allergies to obesity.

Surgery
First

In our state of the art double surgery suite, we perform both elective procedures such as spaying and neutering, and advanced procedures such as orthopedic surgeries, cancer surgery, and emergency operations.  All anesthetized patients are monitored by pulse oximetry, electrocardiography, and/or respiratory and body temperature monitors.
Close attention is paid to your pet’s pain control before and after surgery. All patients are constantly supervised while in the Recovery area.

First

Often more important than the surgical procedure itself we provide extensive surgical and post surgical monitoring of our patients' vital stats and overall recovery. All anesthetized animals are monitored closely. In our post surgical area patients are under constant supervision.

Dentistry

Animals need dental maintenance just as people do. By treating tartar buildup and periodontal disease we can help prevent some health problems, and provide better breath for those big slobbering kisses.
