Dr. Glenn Olah has lived and worked in many places, but New Mexico has been his home for the past 12 years. In 1990, he graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics from Rice University in Houston, Texas. During and since graduation, biology and biophysics research occupied most of his time, but weekends were spent helping out at local animal clinics until he decided to make veterinary medicine his full time career. Glenn was accepted into veterinary school at Oklahoma State University in 1998, and graduated the top of his class with a D.V. M. degree in 2002. After graduation, Glenn accepted a one year academic appointment at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he taught parasitiology to first-year veterinary students, and worked in research with vector-borne diseases. After teaching and research, he practiced medicine in a feline specialty clinic until joining Smith Veterinary Hospital in the spring of 2004. His special interests include feline medicine, infectious diseases, and parasitology. Glenn is presently pursuing board certification in feline medicine by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (AVBP-feline). Glenn is an active member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners in which he presently serves on the research committee. Other professional affiliations include the New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. Free time is spent with his wife, Elaine, enjoying the great outdoors, or simply staying home and being entertained by their 2 cats, Victor and Maynard, and their Boxer, Milo. Hobbies include marathon training and running, coffee roasting, and a lot of reading.
