Dr. Kathy (Smith) Dobesh is a third generation veterinarian and co-owner of Smith Veterinary Hospital.  Born and raised in Santa Fe, she graduated from St. Michaels’s High School, and then attended New Mexico State University for undergraduate studies.  She received her D.V. M. degree from Colorado Sate University in 1990 and returned to Smith Veterinary Hospital that same year.

Her special interests include small animal internal medicine, cardiology, surgery and acupuncture.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and is a USDA accredited veterinarian.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband, Mike.  Her hobbies include horseback riding, weight lifting, karate, gardening and caring for the family horses, goats, dogs and cats.
