Dr. Mike Dobesh, co-owner of Smith Veterinary Hospital, received his D.V.M. degree from Colorado State University in 1990. Mike grew up on a small farm in eastern Nebraska. After high school, he worked on a large cattle ranch in north central Colorado. Thanks to the influence of a few special pets, Dr. Dobesh developed a true fondness for companion animals during veterinary school. Now his workday is filled with caring for dogs and cats. He says that he could never imagine doing anything else!

When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathy, and his two daughters, Kelsey and Kaitlin.

When life gets a little less hectic, he enjoys hobbies that include home brewing, bee keeping, coffee roasting, hiking, taking his dogs swimming, running marathons and cheering on the Denver Broncos!
